XM a US satellite radio firm is being sued by record labels over a gadget that lets listeners’ record songs. According to recording industry, XM's Inno device is capable of storing music and dividing it into tracks and thus infringes copyright. The lawsuit gets $150,000 (£79,537) in damages for an individual song copied by XM customers to an Inno device. The Inno device turns a radio broadcast into a download service that resembles Apple's iTunes, said the Recording Industry Association of America in its lawsuit. XM defends itself by saying that music stored on the device cannot be moved anywhere and will only lasts as long as a customer is a subscriber.
