Today Sony showcased the latest addition to the ever growing Sony family, the MZ-RH1 Hi-MD Walkman digital music player. Extremely stylish the new Sony player has a 1GB storage capacity. The MZ-RH1 is unique as it plays a variety of formats including LinearPCM, ATRAC (ATRAC, ATRAC3, ATRAC3plus) or MP3 format which has been recorded onto the device from a live music session .It includes a backlit spectrum analyzer display, high power headphones offering treble and bass sound, and a remote control. |

Today the latest “i” product has been launched by Hitachi Japan .They have just released 3 digital audio players including HMP-F3, HMP-D3 and HMP-S3, with 512MB of flash memory each. These players are called the I-Muse and come in trendy designs and colors. All support MP3, WMA and WAV - including DRM 9 and 10 for WMA and full-speed USB 2.0 transfers from the PC. Available only in Japan for now, there has been no further information yet. |

The latest MP3 Player to hit the market is the Signeo's MP3 player , the SN-A250 . A flashbased player, this offers easy connectivity through a USB port and has features like OLED display, FM tuner, between 256MB and 1GB of storage, and up to 18 hours of battery.It supports audio formats like MP3, WMA, and WAV and also acts like computer-free MP3 recording device. For now it will be available only in Japan for 19,000 yen |
France Battles It Up With Apple

Ever downloaded music officially and then realized what a pain it is when you cant transfer it to your iPod or any other media device thanks to protected digital content .Well now France is taking notice of this and there maybe a legislature passed soon where it would be legal too to transfer protected digital content from one digital rights management scheme to other formats. Christian Vanneste, sponsor of the legislation, said such format conversion would no longer be illegal under the law. "You have to be able to download content and play it on any device." This has already generated concern among players like Apple and Microsoft who are threatening to withdraw their services in France. Watch this space for more details. |

Okay this new age Gramophone sure scores some brownies points not only for the elegant design but also for a great innovative concept. Designed by Ben Blanc and Andrew Reed, the team behind Cucumber Lab, this combined phonograph/wine cabinet is a great change from all those Digital Media Players doing the rounds and evokes a nostalgic feeling. Don’t know if it will be a hit but it sure is ‘Different’.

When I first looked at the new BeoLab 4 speakers by Bang & Olufsen, the first word which came to my mind was ‘WOW’ .These speakers not only sport a very contemporize design and come in a cool red finish but are compatible with all media players like the iPod and can be attached to the PC too. He BeoLab 4 system in spite of its small design is a powerhouse of a performer and includes CEpower amplifier technology and the sound quality is flawless. No word on pricing or availability. |

Belkin Developing Car Adapter For iPod

According to sources Belkin is busy these days developing a car dock and charger for Apple’s iPod. It looks like they in the process of registering the patent and judging form the device it looks like it will be plugged into the cigarette lighter to power and charge the iPod while an RF transmitter sends the audio over the car’s audio system. It’s an interesting concept but there is no worn on when it will start production. |

MSI has just showcased their latest offering at CeBIT which unlike other mp3 players a solar panel on its backside for charging your mp3 player. Very innovative if you ask me and no more worries about finding a power outlet to charge your MP3 Player, which is a bane of many mp3 users? The solar-powered MSI Mega Player 540 will be available by the end of year and would definitely be a product to watch for. |
