The Sony Ericsson HBH-DS970 a Bluetooth Stereo headset has finally been launched making it a highly anticipated product. Made in a convenient shape and weighing just 26 grams the HBH-DS970 has a host of features like track skipping and call answering. Though not complete wireless HBH-DS970 scorers over its counterparts. With a bight display and a battery life of 6 hours talk time or playback time and 300 hours of stand by, it sure looks like a winner. No word on price or availability.

The Acer MP-500 PMP

The Acer MP-500 has just been unveiled and is all set for a face off with the gigantic iPod.This touch screen portable player comes with a 320x240 screen resolution and a 3.5 inch touch screen. The Acer MP-500 weighs around 7 ounce and is available with either 20 or 40 GB disk space. The MP-500 can play about 4 hours of video and 8 hours of audio formats like WMA, MP3 and AAC. There has been no word on what video formats it supports however formats like MPEG, AVI, ASF and WMV would be mandatory. No word on pricing or availability yet.

The Asono Mica Mp3 Player

Another mp3 which is doing the rounds and creating a buzz is the Norwegian designed The Asono Mica .White in colour it doesn’t even resemble the iPod closely however like its rival scores on design and is strikingly simple and elegant. One great feature being that the headphones are already incorporated in the player making it more attractive. The Asono Mica may just become a hit because of its unique design and it being extremely functional. This 1 GB player also has features like microphone, fm radio, radio recorder and preset equalizers. The Asono Mica is available for $345.

Apple To Launch BoomBox?

There have been rumors doing the rounds that Apple will on Tuesday announce the iPod "Hi-Fi" boom box which would be in a different league of its own when compared to other speakers doing the round. According to reliable sources the iPod Hi-Fi boom box has been in works for more than a year and Apple wants to capture the ever growing market generated by its now legendary iPod .The iPod Hi-Fi" boom box would be apples foray into a new market as before they manufactured accessories lie earphones ,remotes, docks etc.

iPod Video Screen A Fake According To Video

We have got some bad news for the iPod generation. The much anticipated widescreen video iPod has just been labeled as bogus and from the looks of it a product of someone’s very wild imagination. Of course now that this has been confirmed the pundits are claiming they knew it all along and how the screen color and orientation looked a bit weird. There is a video doing rounds also how the whole scam was cooked up. However the fans should despair because a true video iPod will be unveiled by Apple on Tuesday. So there is still hope.

Digital Cowboy Japan has launched active speaker system- the IP200 for the iPod and iPod nano which have the dock connector. The speaker system is available in two colors- black / white. Having satisfied the efficiency standard which the apple computer corporation decides the product carries the “Made for iPod “certificate. Basic operation of the iPod (playback, stop, skip, fast forward, rewind and stop) is possible with the iPod nano sized remote control. The analog stereo mini- audio input on the rear, can connect to audio players other than the iPod.The 6.4cm diameter speakers is made of neodymium magnet, the playback frequency is 80Hz - 20kHz.and the 1bit digital amplifier has 15w×2ch output.

Griffin Tuneflex straps your iPod while driving

The Tuneflex from Griffin prevents your iPod Nano from slipping from the dashboard and meeting an untimely death under the brake pedal. It plugs into your car's cigar lighter socket and has a steel gooseneck with a cradle sat on the end. It not only charges your iPod but also provides a line out socket with an adjustable switch for cassete adapters and stereo cables. With the Dock connector you can hook up iTrip FM transmitter or Airclick remote control. The base has a glowing light which tells you the iPod's battery life.

Finland Adds MP3 Player to the Consumer Price Index

In case you were obsessed with economics in school then you will probably remember Consumer Price Index (CPI), but for those who dont know it is an index which statistically tracks the prices of a specified set or “market basket” of consumer goods and services. This provides a measure of inflation and a basic representation of cost-of-living. Statistics Finland revised 22 percent of this market basket adding new items such as the MP3 player and taking out antiquated consumer technology such as the VCR, video cassette, and roll of film.

The ‘mTUNE" from Korea distributor Macally is a cordless stereo headset, especially designed for the iPod shuffle. Just plug the shuffle into a slot on the left side of the headset. With no battery required, this product has 250mW max output power speaker, easily adjustable headband, and accommodating leather ear pads for added comfort. The unit has a impedance of 32Ohm+/-40hm(1Khz).
