According to the mirror, Rev. Shannon Ledbetter of St. Mary's Church, Knowsley, Merseyside said "For the elderly and disabled, this is fantastic. All you need to do is fix them up with an iPod and they are good to go. For the young too there are answers to so many questions about their faith." Steve Evans of Bridge Chapel Church in LiverPool said " Large numbers of new people are coming down and joining simply because of the downloads and podcasts. Creative Zen Vision:M 30GB
Posted
on December 28, 2005
Everything USB reviews the Zen Vision:M 30GB Creative's answer the Video iPod. Probably the first question people ask when reading this review is whether the Creative Zen Vision:M has a better screen than the video iPod. After all, Mr. Hoo should have already dissected the Apple's, and came up with countermeasures before hitting back. Putting the video iPod next the Zen, the Creative seems to take the lead with the colors on the 2.5" QVGA screen being very vivid and vibrant. The LCD's contrast is excellent. There's just a bit too much color saturation than necessary, causing some finer details to wash away.

Sony adds WMA support for NW-A1000, A1200 and A3000
Posted
on December 28, 2005
MNC's or Multi national corporations often take bets on the future. There is really no way of predicting which device or gizmo would make it big in the future, so they keep on investing in R&D. Sometimes like in the case of the walkman, the product becomes such a big hit that the companies fortunes are changed forever. Apple had the same thing done with the iPod. But once the iPod was out, every other manufacturer was rushing to make MP3 players. Wee, almost everyone except Sony. They decided that since convenience and capacity was the name of the game, they would go in for ATRAC players. ATRAC is a format developed by Sony which allows users to push in a lot more music without compromising on quality in the same amount of space.

Turn your iPod into a Universal IR Remote
Posted
on December 28, 2005
The guys at O'Reilly have figured out a way to turn your iPod into a universal remote. To do this you need an iPod of course, Mac or PC with sound recording software, Pocket PC and Griffin’s Total Remote software and IR device. Start by recording the sounds an infrared remote makes on a PC and then put them on an iPod as songs. Adding a special sound-to- IR converter then turns those sounds back to IR and allows you to use your iPod as a remote control. It has a range of 100 feet.
